Temporal Bone Lab at EVMS

Norfolk Sertoma has received a 2024 Sertoma Club Grant, marking the club’s continued commitment to volunteer service and philanthropic support in Hampton Roads. Funds from the grant will benefit the Sertoma Club of Norfolk Temporal Bone Laboratory at EVMS to enhance instruction in ear surgery.

In 2019, the Norfolk Sertoma Club provided the initial grant to open the laboratory. The club continues to support the lab through fundraisers such as the annual Spring Fever event.

Club President Jerry Kevorkian presented the grant and the Norfolk Club’s 2024 donation to Peter G. Volsky, MD, an otologist and Assistant Professor at EVMS, and EVMS Director of Community Engagement Laurie Harrison, following a visit to the lab.

At the June 2019 meeting of the EVMS Foundation Board of Trustees, members of the Sertoma Club of Norfolk presented a check to EVMS for $150,000 to establish the Sertoma Club of Norfolk Temporal Bone Laboratory. It was the largest gift the Norfolk club has ever made to a nonprofit organization.
