MaxStrong Memorial Fund

​Their staff is trained and their goals align with the MaxStrong Memorial Fund's original vision - to teach as many children how to swim as possible with in our community to reduce the likelihood of drowning.  Annually, it is the intent of the MaxStrong Swim Program to provide "traditional swim lessons" as defined by the YMCA-SHR - 2 per week for 4 weeks, for a total of 8 sessions, to serve up to 100 children each summer at the YMCA.

Through the growing support of individuals, companies and foundations within our community and participation in the annual MaxStrong Memorial Golf Tournament, we have been given the opportunity to broaden our mission and increase the number of children who learn how to swim each year.  During our 2015 annual giving campaign, we gifted the Y on Granby with $7,480 to serve 100 children and gifted the Blocker Family center with $4,000 to serve 57 children during 2016.  Our goal is to honor Max's generosity and make a difference year round - and working with the Blocker YMCA will let us do just that.  The MaxStrong Memorial Fund makes it possible for any child to learn to swim and be safe in the water.
